Google Postmaster Tools
Google's console for Gmail delivery and authentication metrics after domain verification.
Short answerAll topics in What is
Verification
Google's help center describes DNS or HTML verification steps before data appears. Until verification succeeds, dashboards stay empty even if mail already flows to Gmail.
Authentication panel
Postmaster Tools reports whether mail authenticated with SPF and DKIM from Google's perspective. It does not edit DNS on the operator's behalf.
Delivery error graphs summarize SMTP failures Gmail saw from your enrolled domain. Cross-check those timestamps with DMARC aggregate rows when troubleshooting sudden volume drops.
Compared to DMARC reports
DMARC aggregate files to rua mailboxes summarize authentication across receivers. Postmaster Tools is Gmail-only and updates in Google's console rather than as XML attachments.
Spam rate panels help operators see sudden reputation shifts. They do not replace fixing SPF, DKIM, or DMARC misconfiguration shown in authentication panels or in aggregate XML.
Google's help center lists the DNS TXT verification token for domain ownership. Until that record is visible to Google's resolvers, Postmaster Tools will not show delivery or authentication history.
Verification and limits
Google's help center describes DNS TXT verification before dashboards populate. Data reflects Gmail's view of traffic, not a promise of inbox placement at other providers.
Postmaster Tools does not edit SPF, DKIM, or DMARC in the operator's zone. Those records still have to be published at the DNS host.
Authentication panels in Postmaster Tools complement but do not replace DMARC aggregate reports sent to rua mailboxes under RFC 7489.
